One of the ARGOs most distinguishing features is its amphibious capabilities. The ARGO is able to make it through all types of wetland environments including slow moving streams, rivers and even small lakes. The ARGOs specially designed tires are what allow it to effortlessly propel through the water. While its top speed in water is 3 mph, with the optional accessory of an outboard motor ARGOs are capable of reaching speeds of up to 10mph.
People across the globe are praising the ARGO for its remarkable capabilities in water. Penny and Leo Trottier are the owners of the White Wolf Resort Campground in Northern Ontario and use their ARGO for a plethora of water related reasons. They use it to harvest bait minnows, go fishing and even take their guest for ‘pleasure cruises’! Penny states that with regard to the ARGOs handling within the water, her husband was duly impressed. “He loved the ease of maneuvering it in the water and its ability to go anywhere,” she says. Indeed, Leo has become somewhat of a fish because of the amount of time he spends in his ARGO on the water. Leo had his most memorable experience with his ARGO one night when a group of resort guests were fishing out on the lake. 'Leo went out to see them,' remembers Penny, 'and all they could see was the ARGO's headlights coming toward them. They thought it was a car or truck driving on the water!'
The Centaur can carry up to 750 lbs/350 kg across small lakes and rivers, however vehicle preparation is required when doing so.
