After an exhaustive
search and rescue operation with the help of their ARGO, the Hamilton
Police Search and Rescue Team reported that Ancaster resident Donna
Molnar was found alive after going missing in a snowstorm three days
earlier.
The
morning after the region’s first major snowstorm, Mrs. Molnar’s car was
found at Lindley’s Farm and Market where it was believed she had gone to
do some shopping. Upon police examination of the vehicle it was
concluded there was no indication that foul play was involved and a
search party was formed. The ARGO: A
Trusted Search & Rescue PartnerComposed of volunteers, 20+
policemen, sniffer dogs, snowmobiles and the force’s most trusted
resource, an S&R ARGO, the search party scoured within a few
kilometers radius of where the car had been found. After a tedious two
days, Molnar was found alive, in a conscious, hypothermic state, buried
in the snow with only her face visible and was taken to hospital. Police
at the scene said that it was “amazing” Donna Molnar survived as long
as she did over one of the coldest weekends of the early winter season. An Experienced Search & Rescue
VehicleWith countless Search & Rescue operations like this one
under its belt, it is no surprise that governments and humanitarian
agencies from around the world have chosen the reliability and
versatility of the ARGO. As part of an EMS team the ARGO provides a
highly efficient mode of transportation for various Emergency Service
responders, their equipment and patients. As the Hamilton Police recently
found out, when disaster strikes, the need to find lost or missing
people is very time critical. The amphibious, all-purpose ARGO can get
EMS personnel to wherever they need to go on land or in the water. When
every second counts, count on an ARGO!
Every ARGO is backed by decades of
experience in the design and manufacture of off-road vehicles. Ontario
Drive & Gear introduced the world-famous amphibious ARGO in 1967.
Since then, ODG has produced more lightweight amphibious vehicles than
any other manufacturer in the world.
